This Application was developed by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, with Cornell University and the Food Marketing Institute. The app will help you learn how long you can store particular items in the fridge, on the shelf, and in the freezer.

The FoodKeeper app will also let you look up any food safety recalls, and will send you alerts of them if you allow it in the permissions.

The app is available for use with mobile in the PlayStore and in the AppStore. We use an Android, this is how it looks to us when we log in.

You can browse through various categories to get to specifically what items you are seeking information about. i.e. How long it will last or cooking temperatures.

You can also search for the item you want to find.

Once you locate your item you can refine the result with the provided list
